This Mediterranean themed courtyard-style garden was initially an unused and overgrown area of grass and weeds in the corner of the client's walled garden in Romsey. They wanted a modern but multifunctional area that could be used for relaxing and dining as well as adding value to their property.

All of the grass was removed and the site levelled. In place of the grass we paved the area in natural stone, incorporating a central paved circle feature. Retaining walls were constructed to create raised walls along the two walled sides. Theses were rendered and painted white, as were the surrounding walls. The retaining walls were then topped with Terracotta tiles and planted out with suitable plants and shrubs.

Two styles of trellising were installed. Bespoke trellis was created for the two walled sides. We then installed more trellising at the corners edges of the plot to give the impression of an enclosed area- almost like an outdoor room.

Overall we produced a stylish, multifunctional outdoor area, increasing the living space of the client and renovating a previously unused area of their garden.
